Configuring JFrog Artifactory to use JumpCloud's LDAP-as-a-Service

This article was qualified on 03/03/2017 using a JFrog Artifactory GCE demo account.

Prerequisites: LDAP Settings in Artifactory are found starting at the navigation bar under Admin > Security > LDAP

LDAP Group Settings

Group Member Attribute member
Group Name Attribute cn
Description Attribute description
Filter objectClass=groupOfNames

*Note: In testing, we found groups populated if we left the search blank.  If trying to 'Search Group by Username' on this configuration screen, it failed. This did not affect the ability of the application to import LDAP groups.

Initial troubleshooting indicated that Artifactory was only sending the filter 'uid=YOUR_USERNAME' for this query, which would not return the expected results. To return a list of groups a given member belongs to, we would expect to see something like this:
filter="(&(objectClass=groupOfNames)(?member=YOUR_USERNAME,ou=Users,o=YOUR_ORG_ID,dc=jumpcloud,dc=com))"
