Using JumpCloud Commands To Send Password Expiration Notifications

JumpCloud commands can be used to identify users whose JumpCloud accounts are set to expire within a given threshold of days. Commands can also notify these soon to be expired users to update their passwords by displaying messages to the end users signed in computer sessions using the JumpCloud agent.

These commands are available for Mac and Windows systems and allow administrators to have more control over the notification process for upcoming account expirations outside of the default JumpCloud "Password expiration warning" email notifications sent to end users.

Find links to these commands below: These commands are available for import in the JumpCloud Command Gallery using the JumpCloud PowerShell module.

Administrators can schedule these commands to run all JumpCloud systems by setting the "Launch Type" of the command to "Repeating".

When these commands are run on systems who accounts are not set to expire within the "alert day threshold" specified by the command no notification is displayed to the end user.

End users must be logged into an active session on their machines to receive password expiration notifications.
