Support Center

July 2019

Feature Releases

  • New Windows Policies are available:
    • Performance Diagnostics
    • File Recovery
    • Explorer
    • Error Reporting
    • Help
    • Display
    • Power Management
    • DNS

  • The Admin Portal's Administrator modal has been updated to match the new look and feel of the Admin Portal. The Administrator's modal is where administrator user accounts are managed for JumpCloud. See Managing Administrator Accounts.

  • The Admin Portal's Billing and Payments modal has been updated to include two tabs: Billing Information and Payment Information. These tabs make it possible to separate the billing contact from the payment method. See Billing, Charges, Invoices
  • When users are deleted from JumpCloud, they are now suspended as expected from both Office 365 and G Suite.

  • New Beta SAML SSO Connectors are available for admins to connect their applications with JumpCloud:
  • Fixed an issue that prevented admins from clearly seeing the text box where they enter the number of users they want to delete from JumpCloud.

  • AD Bridge version 1.4.1 has been released and includes the following enhancements:
    • Improved logic for syncing attribute updates more quickly.
    • The following options are available for configuration on AD Bridge:
      • PasswordChangeListener - PollTimeMillis - This is the interval for the amount of time between polls to AD for password updates. The default setting is 1 millisecond.
      • UserDissociationAction - This setting controls the behavior of user dissociations - or what happens when a user is deleted, disabled, or removed from the JumpCloud security group in AD. Can be set to either remove or unbind; the default setting is remove. When set to remove, a user is deleted from JumpCloud if they are dissociated. When set to unbind, a user is unbound from the AD instance, but remains in JumpCloud if they are dissociated, and JumpCloud continues to manage that user’s identity.
      • UserFieldMapping - This setting controls the mapping of JumpCloud’s username field from AD on import. Can be set to either map JumpCloud username to “sAMAccountName” or “userPrincipalName.” The default setting for all new installations of AD Bridge is to map the JumpCloud username to “sAMAccountName.”
      • UserTakeoverAction - This setting controls the behavior of user take over - or what happens when an existing JumpCloud user account is taken over from AD. Can be set to deactivate or retain. The default setting is deactivate. When set to deactivate, existing user accounts are placed into a Pending state after they are taken over from AD. Pending users are directed to reset their passwords in AD to ensure they are in sync between AD and JumpCloud. When set to retain, the user state remains the same for existing user accounts that are taken over from AD. See Installing AD Bridge.
    • The default setting for PollTimeMillis has been updated to 1 ms. Previously, the default setting was 30 seconds
    • Improved Windows Event Log efficiency.

  • Admins can require users to update their passwords for [N] days after their password expires with a new password aging option, Require password reset on User Portal login for the N days after password expiration. To enable this new option, the Password expires after [N] days option must be enabled first. See Security Settings. If this option is enabled, users are shown the Your password has expired modal after they log in to their User Portal for the [N] days after their password expires. This modal can't be dismissed by users.
  • We now determine the system a user is on and direct them to change their password based on the system we detect. As part of this change, we have removed text from the Update Your Password modal that directed users to update their password in the Mac app. See How Do I Change My JumpCloud User Account Password?

Enhancements: *We're evaluating these connectors in various real-world environments so we can gather feedback to enhance their performance.

  • Three new Beta* SAML SSO Connectors are available for admins to connect their applications with JumpCloud:
  • New options have been added for G Suite, RADIUS, and LDAP V2 API endpoints to allow configuration of the action taken when users get locked out of JumpCloud or have their passwords expire.
  • LDAP sync no longer fails when a phone attribute is populated with only a single or multiple dashes.
*We're evaluating these connectors in various real-world environments so we can gather feedback to enhance their performance.

  • The following Windows policies have been added:
    • Windows Remove Management Policy
    • Windows Sharing Policy
    • Windows Remote Shell Policy
    • Windows Firewall Policy
