Support Center

Single Sign On (SSO) with Coupa

Important: This article contains out-of-date information. For current application information, see Connecting Applications with JumpCloud Using Pre-Built Connectors.

  • How to configure User authorization.
  • SSO access may be configured for an instance of either Coupa staging or Coupa production.
  • Coupa only supports either SP-initiated or IdP-initiated SAML SSO for a single Coupa account, not both.
  • The JumpCloud administrator performing the integrations will first configure SSO for the IdP, or JumpCloud. After JumpCloud is configured, the administrator will send the IdP configuration details to the Coupa support team, who will be in touch to complete the connection.

Configure the JumpCloud SSO Application

  1. Access the JumpCloud Administrator Console at https://console.jumpcloud.com.
  2. Select Applications in the main navigation panel.
  3. Select the + in the upper left, scroll or search for the application in the 'Configure New Application' side panel, the select 'configure'.
  4. You can upload a service provider application's XML metadata file to populate SAML connector attributes for that application. The attributes populated by the metadata file may vary by the application. To apply a metadata file for the application you're connecting, click Upload Metadata. Navigate to the file you want to upload, then click Open. You'll see a confirmation of a successful upload. Be aware that if you upload more than one metadata file, you'll overwrite the attribute values applied in the previously uploaded file.
  5. In the IDP Entity ID field, enter https://YOURDOMAIN.TLD (e.g., https://thebestwidgets.com).
  6. Select Upload IdP Private Key and upload the private.pem file generated according to the above prerequisites.
  7. Select Upload IdP Certificate and upload the cert.pem file generated according to the above prerequisites.
  8. In the SP Entity ID field, for Coupa production enter prdsso40.coupahost.com or for Coupa staging enter devsso35.coupahost.com.
  9. In the ACS URL field, for Coupa production enter https://prdsso40.coupahost.com/sp/ACS.saml2 or for Coupa staging enter https://devsso35.coupahost.com/sp/ACS.saml2.
  10. In the Target URL field, enter https://<COUPA_SUBDOMAIN>/sessions/saml_post (replace COUPA_SUBDOMAIN with your Coupa subdomain).
  11. In the field terminating the IdP URL, either leave the default value or enter a plaintext string unique to this connector.
  12. (Optional) In the Display Label field, enter a label that will appear under the Service Provider logo within the JumpCloud User console.
  13. Select Activate.
  14. Select export metadata for Coupa.

Configure the Service Provider

  1. Email the following information to the Coupa support team:
    • The metadata file you downloaded from the JumpCloud console.
    • Login URL: provide the same IdP URL that you set in the JumpCloud console (if you did not modify the termination of this URL, then provide the default URL: https://sso.jumpcloud.com/saml2/coupa).
    • Logout URL: https://console.jumpcloud.com/userconsole/.
    • Test User: Create a test user with accounts in both JumpCloud and Coupa.
  2. Log into Coupa as an administrator.
  3. Navigate to https://<COUPA_SUBDOMAIN>.coupahost.com/administration/security.
  4. Check the box labeled Log in using SAML.
  5. Upload the IdP metadata file you downloaded from JumpCloud.
  6. Check Advanced Settings.
  7. In both the Login page URL and Timeout URL fields, enter the same thing.
    • For IdP-Initiated SSO, enter the same IdP URL that you set in the JumpCloud console (if you did not modify the termination of this URL, then enter the default URL: https://sso.jumpcloud.com/saml2/coupa).
    • For SP-Initiated SSO, enter `https://<DEV_OR_PROD>.coupahost.com/sp/startSSO.ping?PartnerIdpId=<IdP_ENTITY_ID>&TARGET=https://<COUPA_SUBDOMAIN>.coupahost.com/sessions/saml_post (replace DEV_OR_PROD with devsso35 or prodsso40, replace IdP_ENTITY_ID with the IdP Entity ID entered into the JumpCloud console, and replace COUPA_SUBDOMAIN with your Coupa subdomain).
  8. In the Logout page URL field, enter https://console.jumpcloud.com/userconsole/.
  9. Upload your public certificate.
  10. Select Save.
